Petra from Israel – Private Tour
Take the opportunity to visit Petra, Jordan's famous archaeological site, dating to the 3rd century BC, when it was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. Palaces, temples, tombs, storerooms and stables were carved from the rose-red sandstone rock cliffs. The ancient city is approached through the 1.2 kilometre high-walled Siq – a narrow gorge in the rock, torn apart by tectonic forces. Toward the end of the Siq, you will be rewarded with glimpses ahead of the most impressive of Petra’s sights, the magnificent Treasury, known locally as Al Khazneh.
