Meteora Trip by Train – 2 Days

Make your own way to Athens train station for the  08:27 train, arriving around 13:30 in Kalambaka, a small town near the Meteora monasteries. Our English-speaking driver will be waiting for you, holding a signboard with your name and will transfer you to your hotel. Discover this picturesque small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks, and crowded by the Meteora Monasteries. 

After breakfast the next morning, our guide will meet you in the hotel lobby for a tour to visit three main monasteries of Meteora. This guided tour will take you back to the time of the first hermits and monks who laid the foundations of what later became the monastic community of Meteora. At the end of the tour, you will transferred back to Kalambaka, with time to stroll around and enjoy a light lunch (not included). At 17:22 the train departs from Kalambaka, and arrives back to Athens at 22:15.

Note: Most monasteries are accessible by many steps only.
