Our comprehensive Grand Tour of Greece visits Nafplion, the first capital of modern Greece, Mycenae, Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, Delphi and Meteora with its Byzantine monasteries atop massive rock pillars.  Explore Northern Greece with its rich history from the ancient city-states to the Byzantine Empire. Your base will be Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city and second only to Istanbul during the Byzantine Empire. Excursions to nearby towns allow a rare insight into ancient Greek history with Aristotle's School of Philosophy in Naoussa, and the Royal Tomb of King Phillip II, the capital of Alexander the Great (Pella).
