Heraklion, Knossos, Lassithi – Full Day

Visit the most famous and popular of all the attractions in Crete, the Palace of Knossos. Enjoy a guided tour of the historical site, learn about the legendary labyrinth and the Minotaur. Continue towards central Crete to the Monastery of Kera Kardiotissa dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Drive south and reach the Plateau of Lassithi, the crater of an ancient volcano. Lassithi is famous for nearly ten thousand windmills. Visit the monastery Vidiani that hosts a small natural history museum. After a break for lunch in one of the local villages in Lassithi , visit the Dicti Cave where mythical Zeus, the father of Greek Gods, was born. A short photo-stop at Pediada Plain will complete the day in a perfect way.
